Answers to Frequently Asked Questions about KidStuf

  1. What is KidStuf?
KidStuf is a family centered, shared worship experience for parents and their kids (Kindergarten through 5th grade).  It is an upbeat environment where learning about faith and character is fun and relevant!  The shared experience will enable families to continue to communicate, teach, and lead throughout the week.
KidStuf is also a great place for families to bring friends with no church background! It is a very predictable, warm, fun and welcoming environment they can appreciate!
  2. What will happen during a KidStuf Service?
During KidStuf, families worship together through various forms of media such as drama, music, and video ... forms that today's families understand. Also, the "WORD" segment focuses on the Bible for a specific application of the biblical virtue being taught that month. During this segment, families learn why God says the virtue is so important and how it can make a real difference in how they live.
Parents ... we promise that YOU will enjoy KidStuf as much as your children! We are also confident that you will go away with valuable application for your own life, as well as for parenting your children.
  3. How long is the KidStuf Service?
The KidStuf program is approximately 45 minutes long. We will begin the program at 11:00 AM and will conclude around 11:45 AM.
  4. Where will KidStuf take place?
Building C (the gym) has been renovated with a new stage, sound system, and lighting system for the KidStuf program. All KidStuf services will be in Building C.
  5. Who can come to KidStuf?
Everyone can come to KidStuf!! The KidStuf program is specifically designed for elementary-age children AND their parents. However, we aren't exclusive! You are welcome to join us, even if you don't fit into one of those categories!
  6. What is available for our younger and/or older children?
Again, the KidStuf program is specifically written for elementary-age children and their parents. If you have preschool children, we will be offering a "preschool version" of KidStuf in our preschool building. Nursery will also be available for children two and under. Families who would like to bring their younger children to KidStuf may do so as long as the younger children sit with their parents. Older children are also welcome to attend KidStuf with their parents! Our elementary kids, however, have special reserved seating on the stage-front floor!
  7. Can my child(ren) come to KidStuf without a parent?
A parent must accompany their child(ren) to KidStuf each week. Hey, that's the whole purpose!! KidStuf is designed as a shared experience for families, so parent attendance is very important. You are encouraged to invite your unchurched friends ... kids by themselves, or with their families. CFC parents can bring visiting children anytime!
Parents, if you prefer, your child(ren) have the option to share the adult worship service with you. We are excited about having these options for our families to enjoy worshipping together!
Remember that children's programs are available for all ages during the 8:00 and 9:30 worship services. During the 11:00 service, Nursery and The Park (Preschool Children's Church) will be offered alongside KidStuf and the third hour adult service.
  8. What types of lessons are taught in KidStuf?
KidStuf is virtue driven. A specific virtue is highlighted each month. The meaning of the virtue is taught through examples from the Bible and from drama sketches from everyday life.
  9. Are there other KidStuf resources available for our family?
A virtue pack will be available for purchase each month. This resource pack is incredible! It includes discussion starters, bedtime stories, encouragement cards, and an audio CD with music from the program, stories for the kids, and parenting tips to help instill the particular virtue in your family. Other music CD's will also be available.
