Testimonies – 2008 Counseling & Discipleship Training
I attended the training with the intention of learning to teach and counsel others using sound biblical truths....I walked away becoming a better wife and mother. No matter where we are in our walk with Christ, just beginning or a mature Christian, we have not yet arrived. The training was powerful in teaching application of the Word of God and alife that reflects Christ. (Tamara Dye)
Well, there were many benefits to attending the training - not least of which is how it has helped me in my own marriage. Perhaps the most tangible benefit was the very practical framework for dealing with and disciplining our children's sinful behavior. We implemented a behavior chart for our 7 year old shortly after the second teaching weekend and it has been very successful. (Michelle Zerza)
The training provides an excellent perspective and direction on the application of biblical truths to all facets of my life, especially in the area of relationships. This includes the relationship to my wife and my children in particular and how my role with each is directed by God’s Word. Whether I use this training as the first step in being trained as a counselor or just to apply it to daily living, it has become a valuable tool in my goal to become more Christ-like. (Jim Whorton)
The greatest benefit to me as a Christian in attending the training last year was to encourage my heart in the foundations of my understandings of the Bible and appropriate relationship with Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. The instruction that was provided was practical, attainable, and very clear in ALL walks of my life whether my home, marriage, or own personal well being. (Lewis Fraser)
The training gave pragmatic substance to the Bible as the inspired, inerrant, and sufficient word of God (II Timothy 3:16). (Sid Snook)
The training was extremely practical. I was immediately able to use what I learned in my marriage, parenting, small groups, and those hurting or struggling with sin in their life. This is an effective way that our body can increase the impact of Jesus Christ in our community by using God’s word to give real hope those who are hurting. (Jeff Adams)
